{"id":1169,"date":"2011-06-01T10:30:06","date_gmt":"2011-06-01T10:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stdl.hb.se\/?p=1169"},"modified":"2013-01-30T15:04:58","modified_gmt":"2013-01-30T15:04:58","slug":"summer-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stdl.se\/?p=1169","title":{"rendered":"Summer Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 13th to 17th of June 2011, The Swedish School of Textiles organized five days long <em>Smart Textiles Summer Camp<\/em>with <a href=\"?page_id=244\">the theme of \u2018Future E-Textiles Master craftsmanship\u2019<\/a> . Twenty experts from the field of Textile design, E-textiles, Wearable Technology Art and interaction design gathered from all over Europe to share their knowledge and skills, and explore the new possibilities.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/34524320?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0&amp;autoplay=1\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>During these five days, we held eight <a href=\"?cat=7\">skill-share workshops<\/a>, in which selected participants lead the workshop and shared their specialized techniques in intermediate-expert level. These skill-share workshops covered from weaving, knitting to electro plating.<br \/>\nIn the evenings, we held cozy <a href=\"?cat=4\">discussion sessions<\/a>, covering the topics of documentation\/passing on trades, future of smart textiles\/ complexity of the analogue world.<br \/>\nThe camp ended with a day and a half of intense <a href=\"?cat=11\">collaborative project work<\/a>, in which participants split into groups based on their areas of expertise and interests (textiles design, performance, craft and interaction design). Each groups were asked to continue the discussion on <a href=\"?p=218\">the theme<\/a> and develop a prototype that communicates the idea.<\/p>\n<p>The Smart Textiles Summer Camp was a unique event, in a sense that these experts spent literally five days and night together working, discussing, eating and sleeping together.
