{"id":2064,"date":"2012-09-18T09:17:38","date_gmt":"2012-09-18T09:17:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stdl.hb.se\/?p=2064"},"modified":"2012-09-19T09:08:02","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T09:08:02","slug":"sound-lab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stdl.se\/?p=2064","title":{"rendered":"Sound Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The aim of creating a sound lab at the Swedish School of Textiles is twofold:<\/p>\n<p>a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to be able to do research on how the quality of a sound environment will alter depending on the placement of textile surfaces in the room.<\/p>\n<p>b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to integrate sound as a design tool in the textile design education. Today the students are able to work with the placement of textiles in a virtual environment and the sound lab will be an important complement where the students can get full-scale\u00a0 \u201clive\u201d experiences of how the sound environment can alter depending on where the textile surfaces are placed in the lab.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To bring in sounds from different contexts in the lab there will be advanced technical equipment for recording and playing back sound.<\/p>\n<p>The sound lab will also function as a lab for further experimental work to develop the results from the research project \u201cTextile sound design\u201d, a project where a number of researchers are involved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The aim of creating a sound lab at the Swedish School of Textiles is twofold: a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to be able to do research on how the quality of a sound environment will alter depending on the placement of textile surfaces in the room. b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to integrate sound as a design tool in the textile design education.
