The printed colour swatches demonstrated the colour transitions of\u00a0thermochromic inks at different temperatures. The structured tasks created\u00a0opportunities for students to learn the principles of colour transition by actually\u00a0experiencing them, and the more free tasks showed the students that the<\/div>\n<div>possibilities are endless.<\/div>\n<div>The workshop was evaluated by considering the student\u2019s design outcomes.\u00a0These indicated that the tool allowed the students to integrate their new\u00a0knowledge of the behaviour of thermochromic inks with what they already knew<\/div>\n<div>about\u00a0static pigments in relation to the design of a surface pattern.
